Private since 1854 – we consider this to be a commitment for the future. It is this tradition of innovation we draw on when setting new standards in services and financial products. Today, as in the past.
BHF-BANK and its predecessor institutes, Frankfurter Bank and Berliner Handels-Gesellschaft, have always been a spearhead of change. Under the leadership of Carl Fürstenberg, Berliner Handels-Gesellschaft played an important role in financing the industrialisation of Germany – for example, by issuing major industrial bonds. Frankfurter Bank was already active in giro collection business as a bank of banks in the 19th century, helping the Frankfurt-based private banks to expand their business activities. Over 100 years ago, it was one of the very first banks to devote itself exclusively to asset management.
Our bank has also made a name for itself in the past decades for the innovative services and products it provides to its clients. One of the bank’s particular fortes is the interdisciplinary approach it pursues. By pooling the know-how of all its experts across the different business segments, the bank has, for example, succeeded in giving private clients access to products formerly reserved for institutional clients only.
