BHF-BANK Foundation supports the development of new, even unconventional solutions to the problems facing society today. It helps to unleash creative potential. In line with this maxim, the Foundation focuses on the provision of care for children, young people and the elderly, whilst also supporting socio-political research projects and promoting contemporary arts and up-and-coming artistic talent.
The theatrical, musical and artistic works commissioned as part of the interdisciplinary "Frankfurter Positionen" have attracted considerable public interest. BHF-BANK Foundation collaborates with the "Literarisches Colloquium Berlin" (Literary Colloquium Berlin) and the "Stiftung Preußischer Kulturbesitz" (National Museums in Berlin) to award the "Brücke Berlin" prize. This biennial literature and translation prize is awarded to a major work of contemporary literature from Central and Eastern Europe and its outstanding translation into German. In October 2006, BHF-BANK Foundation will cooperate with the "Deutscher Musikrat" (German Music Council) and the German Symphony Orchestra, Berlin, to award the first "Deutscher Dirigentenpreis" (German Conductor Prize). This award will offer the highest prize money for conductors in Europe.
